Star-Studded PPT November Nine set in Cannes

The €3 Million Guaranteed €8,500 PPT Season 3 Main Event drew 764 players to the Palm Beach Casino Cannes this week, including some of the top poker players on the planet.

So it is to no one’s surprise, the final table, which was set Tuesday and will return to play out on Nov. 6 and 7, is full of recognizable names.

Newly minted Team PokerStars Pro, NAPT Mohegan Sun champ and WSOP bracelet holder Vanessa Selbst has the chip lead.

However, French pro Fabrice Soulier has over $1.8 million in career tournament earnings and is right behind her.

German Ali Tekintamgac is coming off a WPT Spanish Championship win, IPT final table and a deep run at EPT Tallinn and sits within striking distance, while 2007 EPT Grand Final third-place finisher Soren Konsgaard is not far off the pace.

While there are a few new faces in the final nine in Cannes, Tobias Reinkemeier is certainly not one of them.

The German cashed in four EPT main events last year, took down the €25,000 High Roller Event at the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo for $1.2 million and despite being short stacked heading into the November final, he is certainly a threat.

The €5,684,160 prize pool in Cannes pays 81 spots with each of the nine players making the final guaranteed at least €110,300.

But it’s the €1,300,000 first-place prize that will be on the minds of at least those nine people until November.

Here’s the entire list of PPT Main Event finalists and their chip counts:

1 Vanessa Selbst 3,951,000

2 Fabrice Soulier 3,652,000

3 Ibrahim Raouf 3,492,000

4 Ali Tekintamgac 3,289,000

5 Mickael Etalapera 3,129,000

6 Raphael Kroll 2,390,000

7 Soren Konsgaard 1,073,000

8 Tobias Reinkemeier 819,000

9 Cyril André 600,000
